House Hunting Internationally!

Let me start by saying when I first arrived in Waterloo, Belgium I was jet lagged and grouchy...my first impression of it was not a good one. What I saw was an old town that looked 'dead'. It was on a Sunday when the shops were closed and no one was out and about on the streets. My first thought was, "no way can I live here. It's just old and cold'. Then I got some sleep/nap, woke up then we sight seeing around the area. My impression started to change...a little. As the week went by, I got out and explored, spoke with a few other ex-pats and decided the experience would be worth trying. Maybe even exciting. So I left Belgium yesterday open to the idea that this will be a great experience for my family and perhaps even a little excited about the move. I had a great trip and look forward to one day doing an entire post 'en francais'....maybe...
Here goes the start of the Househunter Videos that I will be posting for anyone who is interested in seeing Waterloo househunting through my eyes....
Some houses were very different from anything I have known here in the US...especially in the south. The idea of a basement....or as I like to call some of them, 'dungeon'...is alittle creepy to me. These are cold dark spaces in some of the houses. So here were the top 4 of the 19 houses we looked at/toured!
