a piece of the myers

so we ventured out (back) to the Atomium with some friends yesterday to explore more of this marvel. Of course it was pouring raining when we arrived but it soon cleared up and we got to enjoy the views from atop of the Atomium. I am really excited to have met the Greco family as they have been my life saver here. They take me and the girls in when Brad travels...and by take us in I mean we invade their house and eat their dinner! They arrived in Belgium one week before we did, so they too are getting to know the area and are up for some exploring for newbies!
So we made our way up to the top of the atomium, only for Amelia to accidentally drop her umbrella in the wall of the sphere. (there was an opening in the floor where the beams/walls meet and it slipped in there..) I was so thankful that it wasn't her foot that slipped in there...Belgium is not all that concerned with "safety" regulations... She was very upset, but we quickly moved on to other adventures.

up an escallator

a few stairs....

taking a break...

this was a really neat escallator ride to the top...

a view of Mini Europe..which we will visit one day...

some Atomium facts...

the girls waiting while the man goes to look for Amelia's umbrella...no luck finding it...so we will forever have a piece of the Myers in the Atomium..

After the tour, we strolled around a park that is located near the Atomium. I did not know this green space existed, but it was really neat! There were people setting up different stages for a music festival coming up. So the girls hopped on one of the stages and started performing. They were having a blast putting on a show for us....that was until Isabella fell against the back wall/curtain and flipped backwards landing behind the stage.....it scared her to death!!
